Took door apart to have a look.....between edge of door and the outer colored trim around keypad it is all double walled.....Ill just suck it up and live with it.....When I see someone parked to close to me at least I make sure my hand is between the doors if they touch........I guess some people dont give a sh%$

I still wouldn't give up on Paintless Dent Repair

Earlier this year I was caught in a hailstorm with baseball and up sized hail while driving home in my truck. There were several who had their windshields broken by the hail it was so big! I ended up having major hail damage to my truck on the top, "A" Pillar, outer edge of the roof channel, everywhere. In total my insurance company estimated the repairs at $5600. To make matters worse, this was the second truck in 3 years that has had about the same amount of damage due to the hail.

In both cases, the body shops had paintless dent repair specialist come in and fixed every dent other than the hoods, which are aluminum. There are various methods they use to "pop" the dents out in addition to spooning them from the back side of the metal. I don't know all of the details on how they do it, but I know they have been able to pop the dents out of my trucks without having to have them painted.

Definitely live with it until you get a ding big enough to paint the whole door. That's why I park way out and take a long walk. Out where people care as much as I do.

Deere,

Why couldn't they repair your hood with paintless? I had hail damage on my previous '06 F-150 and '07 Mustang, both with aluminum hoods, and they fixed both with no problem.

They might have been able to fix them, but it wasn't worth the effort. Each truck had between 30 and 40 Golf ball to baseball sized dents in the hood. They chose to just replace the hoods instead of fixing them.

Honeymoon is over. I'm still inthe honeymoon phase myself. Live with it unless you loose sleep over it at night

I also park way out in the lot where no one wants to park. Drive my wife nuts but I've lost some weight walking to the front door of places.

try one of the dent clinics I know the insurance companies use them around here after hail storms. they seem to have a good track record and you get to keep your factory paint

i park way the heck out there also now, more excercise and less risk of door dents, although it'll inevitably happen, i've had idiots park next to me even in the boonies with their 15 year old rust buckets, God knows why they are parking out there....

the only downfall to parking away from people is the added stress of doing this in more confined parking lots (restaurants, etc.)... so i usually find a reasonably close large lot to where i'm going and then just park there and walk a little longer to get to the store i want to go to....

It seems like every time I park way out away from the building, some jackass in an '87 Cutlas Supreme or Pontiac Grand Prix 2-door manages to park right next to me.
