no throttle cable

I was looking around the engine bay of my 2010 with 4.6l 3v. I wanted to rev the engine. There is no throttle cable. Looked at gas pedal, electronic. drive by wire system. learn something new every day.

They haven't had a throttle cable for a while now. I think the 4.6L had the drive-by-wire back in 04. I know the 5.4L's did.

Welcome to 6 years ago!

You might also notice a lag in throttle response. I know the OBS (04-08) often had this problem with the drive-by-wire system. A tuner or programmer can fix that issue right up!

I'm 10 years behind. I came from a 2000 model to a 2010 model.

Kind of scary ain't it? There is a little motor under the dash that controls it.

What sort of tuning/programming are you referring to? I've noticed a lag in my 2009 but mostly when cold, not really when at temp.

VMP, PHP and Troyer Performance are all commonly used by members of this forum. I don't know much about VMP or PHP as I had Troyer write my tunes. From what I hear now, the wait time is very long, but I have been extremely happy with the way my truck runs.

I'm not sure who, if anyone, tunes for the 09-10 trucks yet.
