How do I add a tailgate step?

I've had this FX4 for a few weeks and wish it had the tailgate step. Is it possible to add this now or too complicated and expensive (truch has the rear view camera)?

thx

^^^^ What he said. The tailgate itself is different. The step is over $1000 to buy. http://car-part.com is your friend. You can transfer your camera in to another tailgate with no trouble.

There are a number of aftermarket tailgate steps. I do a lot of towing so I chose the Debostep. It was easy to install and does not plug in to the hitch receiver. Take a look, DEBOSTEP.

A bunch of places sell the Debostep and numerous other models. Just google tailgate step. You'll find one.

Ahh, another case of "man-step" regret!

Maybe you could find someone with the man-step who is not impressed with it, and he could swap with you. But this guy didn't have any luck:

@ Blown4DR
I have an '08. The mount goes over the bar on the hitch frame. It works great.

Its not available if you don't have a hitch frame on your truck.

I think they have a picture of how it mounts on their website. If not you can call them.
The guy is very nice and will email it to you.

Got my Debo Step yesterday and installed it in just over 3 minutes. It's slick, functional and very well designed/built. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a tailgate step, you will not be disapointed.
