Question Info on Ford Alarm without remote start

Looking for info on the Ford dealer or factory alarm system available. Tried two dealers to see if they had any paperwork or written info on it. None..

Just questions like- new remote or works on the factory remote.

-different types, Use to be like a basic, silver or gold version...'

How it works, arms, disarms, valet etc....

Can't believe its this hard to get something on it.

Last thing price or estimate of price.

Thanks in advance.

the bronze (basic), silver, and gold are older nicknames that referred to the basic remote start system (1-button fob), rmst with keyless entry (4-button fob), and rmst, keyless and alarm (6-button fob). The silver kit was discontinued a few years ago.

if you want just the alarm only, they refer to that as the VSS - vehicle security system

The part number for the alarm only is 7L3Z-19A361-AA
http://www.fordaccessoriesstore.com/...7L3Z_19A361_AA

It uses just the existing keyless entry remote. It has a built in shock sensor and you can adjust the sensitivity of it, both for lite-touch warning chirps and full shock alarm. There is no siren rather the alarm sounds through the horn. There's about 11 wires or so that you have to splice into the truck in order to install it.

You can find the installation instructions and wiring diagram on the Ford accessory website here: http://www.fordaccessoriesstore.com/GfaWeb/techSpecs.do

goto installation instructions, then electronics, and then vehicle security systems. From there, select the pdf file titled "Vehicle Security Systems (2009 Model Year Vehicles) -- Truck"

for pricing, take that part number and enter it at www.tascafordparts.com

I bought one from Tasca for around $120. It uses the factory remote. There is no siren it homks the horn in a random pattern (which I think attracts more attention than a siren or steady horn honking). The unit is actually made by Audiovox. Pretty easy to adjust the sensitivity. Comes with LED light and valet button.

I have had the Ford alarm in two other trucks and it worked great. No false alarms or issues of not working and they back it for life. Last truck I had 12 years.
Wanted something to deter or make them think before busting door locks like I have been hearing about.
