Picked up a new 2010 FX4 with 3 miles on the odometer recently and immediatly began doing little mods... cut antennea, USB2 mod, rear headrest removed, my own custom built intake tube, 2" front leveling kit, remote start that I can do from my phone (bling bling), spray-in bedliner, all chrome Lariat grill and Lariat center console/arm rest. Now a couple of things I can NOT find after the above mentioned days wasted searching


I want to get rid of the annoying "ding ding ding" chime when I have the keys in the ignition and door opened. I would love to keep the "fatass assist" when the seat moves back and forward with the key out/in, so I am scared just cutting a wire might disable that? I am "assuming" the best bet is to just cut the actual speaker/chime out and not mess with wires on the ignition cylinder. Was under the dash today and didnt locate a speaker for it. Ideas or suggestions would be loved.


2nd question... this is my first Ford out of the past 20+ that I can not pull the light-stalk back and manually hold it and keep the low-beams + high-beams + foglights on. Is there a simple solution I am missing? [edit] just the high beam + fog would be nice for my country driving!


[edit] Not that important, but my remote start is a Viper 5901 and I can not figure out how to get the defrost to work with this, the online research and support from DEI they had was for the factory navigation system, mine is just the sony + sync /tired

My light stock will not light both hi and low light either, all my other Ford did....
One question I have for you is : how did you get the rear head rests out and can you re install them quickly?? I hate them on my Supercab......
