Tried 2x can't fix loud tick/knock 2010 4.6?

Good Morning Everyone! I have a quick question. My uncle bought a 2010 F-150 with the 4.6. After about 1800 miles it started the loud ticking noise we've all heard about. Took it to the dealership they installed the phaser kit which didn't help. The dealership told him the Ford hotline said to replace the shortblock, the dealer did this and the ticking is still there and worse than ever.
When they replaced the engine all they replaced was the lower part of the engine, the upper part, I assume injectors, exhaust & air intakes, etc are still orginal.
Has anyone else had this done on their 09+ ford, if so how did the dealership fix it......Is there some other reason for the extremely loud ticking, it's not the normal sound that these injectors make. It gets worse as the engine warms up and is even loud enough to be heard in the cab when driving.
I have a 07 5.4 with a slight tick in the injectors and side by side both engines on there is no comparrison in the noises.

Thanks, any help is appreciated!

Take it back to the dealer till they get it right. That's what a warranty is for. If they can't fix it, start looking at your state's lemon law.

I have a 2009 4.6L 3V. Had an issue with a knocking noise. They replaced just about everything.....(cam phazers, pulleys, a/c compressor...) . Turned out to be the PCV valve that is integrated into the valve cover. They replaced the valve cover...Problem Solved!!! Maybe that helps.

There is a TSB for cam phasers for the 4.6 but if they performed it and it didnt help it sounds like you have a major issue...take it back

They replaced the shortblock? I would think that would be a last resort.

Possibly the head gaskets aren't installed correctly? Ive seen cases where an aftermarket NAPA head gasket was designed wrong (or picked wrong from the shelf) where there was no oil passage cut out on the gasket and it created a horrible top end noise from a lack of oil flow. Just my .02 hope they can figure it out

Another thought, they should check the injectors...some of them have been known for being extremely loud...all injectors do make noise but there were cases of them being too loud. Just another bit of my .02

Can you describe the noise your truck makes? I have 2009 4.6 2V, and sometimes i hear almost like a buzzing/grinding noise when i'm pushing the gas. The problem is intermittent, so when I took it to the dealer to get checked out they said they didn't hear anything. It only makes the noise when i push the gas, but i can hear it inside the cab very clearly.
