Question Advice: Best-quality in-channel vent shades

Hopefully not beating a dead horse here, but I am in the market for in-channel vent shades for my 2010 Ford F-150 FX4 SuperCab. Based on your experience, are there certain brands that seem "better designed" for in-channel applications? For example, AVS, EGR, Westin/Wade, Weathertech, Putco, etc., etc. all appear to have offerings. I have had good experience in the past with externally taped AVS shades; however, the new companies and technologies are overwhelming, and I simply want to purchase the best-quality, most reliable product that carries a low risk of interfering with the operation of my power windows (a common complaint, I hear). Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

I have Weather Tech's on the front windows of my SC from the past owner. I will be switching to external tape ones. Way too much stress on the window motors for my liking. It's friction that just isn't needed IMO

I have AVS in-channel vent shades and I do not like them. They cause too much stress while rolling your windows up.

I've got AVS in-channels on my '05 and love them! They fit great and have held up very well over the past 3+ years.

I have not experienced extra stress when rolling up the windows. Could be because I usually leave them cracked open all the time in the summer, and closed all the time in the winter!

I had mine installed by my window tinter who carried both types. He recommended the AVS exterior mounted cuz of what people here are complaining about.

I just got the Putco in channel and they also have plastic inserts to help with rolling up the windows. I like them.

I put the inchannel's on my wife's escape. Didnt seam they had a problem rolling up or down, and if they did it would only be for the last inch or two.

I did have the exterior ones on my old screw, but i wasnt aware of the in chanels at the time.

I hate the idea of sticking stuff on my paint job. I got the AVS in channel and they fit and work well. They are tight on roll up and do make the Explorer roll back down on auto up sometimes.

The Stampede brand is similar but you can tell it is a knock off.

I got more wind noise with the vents.

Yep. I tired the Weathertechs and they severly distorted the rubber at the bottom-front of the window.

Sent them back and got some AVS externals. They look nice and do a good job.

The only problem with the external ones (all of them) is the cheap double-stick tape they put on at the factory. I always remove the factory tape and use 3M body moulding tape. Sticks better and lasts for years.

Right on the money bud... strip that crap off and the high grade tape works wonders. My dad has some amazing stuff he gets from work and boy does it stick
