Microsoft Sync and Nextel/Sprint

Just got my truck last week and it came with the Microsoft Sync capabilities. I currently have a Nextel Blackberry Curve with Direct Connect and cannot get my phone to work properly when hooked up to the sync system. I can receive/make calls + upload my phone book into the sync but my problem lies when I receive a two-way or chirp from someone.

When the phone is "sync'd" the phone will double-beep just like receiving a direct-connect call, but when I press the push-to-talk button it doesn't make any noise but states "in-use" on the phone screen.

I have even held it up to my ear and pressed the button as if I were in private mode (speaker off), but I still cant hear anything...........

Can anyone help me????

Sounds like sync is not compatible with PTT networks.

I know its not apples to oranges, but my 09 Escape had sync and had Nextel/Sprint hybrid phone and I could use PTT even through Sync but physically had to push the PTT button on phone to use it. That was an older version of Sync though and not a blueberry either.

I don't think it's Sync, it appears to be the Blackberry.

Here's the compatibility chart: http://www.nsapp.fordtechservice.dea...N_iop_1_30.pdf

I don't mind having to use the button to talk on the phone itself. More or less I just want to be able to use the Nextel DC in the truck, but to leave the sync on for normal calls. I was just in the truck 5 minutes ago playing with the Sync.....

When the sync is on, my blackberry speaker turns off. I took my Dad's nextel out to the truck with me and DC'd myself. There is no alert, chime, beep, sound, of any kind that comes through the phone. The only way I knew I was receiving a two-way direct connect was due to the fact that the screen on the phone went from standby (black) to the regular lit-up display, and that I was looking at it. I picked my phone up, pressed the button, and heard nothing, but his Nextel chirped on the other end. I even pressed the button on mine and tried to speak through the mouthpiece but nothing came out on his end. It seems as though the speaker gets shutoff and you cannot hear DC calls coming in, nor place one going out with the sync on!
