painting chrome bumpers

hey everyone i just got my 2010 xtr now i wanna paint my chrome bumpers ive been told by a couple body shop that it cant be done and some say ya no problem so im a little confused has anyone done it or tried it before i would trade with someone but up here in toronto not alot of people are spending there money to fix up there trucks thanks alot for your info

I got mine painted. All they have to do is sandblast the chrome off, then do primer and everything else.

Yup, sandblasting + self etching primer (don't need to sand) is what we do at our shop.... never had a problem.

Will be doing my 2010 Lariat's bumpers sometime.

Personally, I wouldn't touch your bumpers for a couple years. You have a brand new truck, why do you want to mess with it already? Plus it'll cost you an arm and leg to get everything prepped painted and cleared...is it really worth it? My answer is no.

Cost really isnt that much. I payed $300 for front and Rear

Depends if your a chrome guy or not. I am not.... everytime I see the chrome, I want to paint it..... and my truck isn't even built yet!

What color are you going to paint? I replaced my white bumpers with chrome and so need to sell the white ones.
