2010 vs. 2011

Thanks all for the info. I have an 09 now, so waiting is not an issue, but I know I will want a new one within 6 months, and just trying to decide if I should jump now with the great deals on the 10's. Just don't want to find out they changed color and rims on me and be dissapointed I didn't wait. As those are two areas I'm struggling on deciding which way to go.
And I know it's stupid to trade every 2 years, but we only go around once, right?

No manufacturer changes powertrains every year. That is significant. Each person must evaluate the risk of choosing a new design in the field. If the 2011 powertrains are as good as they look on paper, then every half ton from every OEM prior to them is "lesser".
The 6.2L probably gets better FE than the 5.4L for the same application. The 5.0L and EB certainly will.
People will get $10k off MSRP of a 2011 model by next summer. It is a cycle that happens regardless of any significant differences from model year to model year. The people that typically pay the premium buy a MY X+1 vehicle prior to spring of calendar year X.
If one wants $8+k off a new truck and needs it now, it won't be a 2011 from anywhere.
The build sheets are not posted on www.ford.com and the timing does not necessarily correlate to Ford's Build and Price web site.

People will get 10K next summer but he mentioned he was looking now that is why I brought that up.
The only point I disagree on is that is a truck has a better engine that doesn't make any vehicle lesser. Many vehicles have things about them that are better than the F-150 that doesn't make the F-150 lesser. Just means a better option for certain things.

There was vague verbiage a while back about the 6.2L in the 2011 Superduty getting better FE than the outgoing engine. It was not clear if that meant the 2010 5.4L or 2010 6.8L. My guess is the 6.2L is more efficient than the 5.4L for the same application.
Transaction prices will be more like 3-5k more than a 2010 for an equivalent 2011 F-150 when they hit dealer lots. There will be some trivial rebate for maybe $1000 at launch and people will still pay near invoice (or less with all the OEM plans). That is still significant extra cost, but some people state the $10k off MSRP as if anyone has every paid MSRP for a pickup in the last 15 years.
If a nothing changes but the engine and the engine is better, then the preceding vehicle is lesser. It is not a personal attack. I still have a 2003! It is much lesser than anything newer, right?

What I read was the 5.0 would have more HP than the 5.4 and get similiar mileage and that was from Ford.

The new 5.0 in the F150 have 360hp@5500rpm and 380lb-ft@4250rpm.
Max towing capacity of 9800lbs.
