Will 17's fit

I've been doing a lot of researching on stepping down from 18's to 17's on mine and from what I understand as long as we stay within the factory offset and backspacing we'll be ok. I'm not a wheel guy and all the wheel/tire shops around here are no help at all.
I'd like to get a definite answer on this subject as I'm getting ready to buy new wheels/tires.

The question is "will they fit on a 2010?" The 2010 front brakes and rotors are larger than the 2009 and earlier trucks.

I would bet that a 17" wheel from a 2010 will fit a 2010 that originally came with 18" wheels. There is no way that Ford does different size brakes for different trucks. Too much $$$ for different parts, tools for assembly, etc. So, again, follow the offset and backspacing for a 2010, and any size wheel meant to fit that truck should fit.

I stopped at a huge wheel and tire shop when I was out running around today. I told him I wanted 17's and he looked at me funny. He said most guys want an 18 or 20 because thats the style. I said I wanted more sidewall and a cheaper tire because the difference could be as much as $100/tire.
We both dug through several magazines, searched the net etc and the conclusion we came to was pick a wheel I liked and we would test fit it. He was getting a new stock of wheels at the first of next week so I'll be going back when he gets some more styles in the 17's. I'll report back if nobody has come up with an exact backspacing, offset etc for a 17" aftermarket wheel for the '10.
EDIT: Tonight if I find the motivation I'll run out to my parents house. They have an 06 XL with the steel 17's and I'll see if they work.
