I like the tow mirrors but you do have to be careful when pulling up to a drive-thru window, along a mailbox, or an ATM.
Don't need to state the obvous towing advantages but they also make it a lot easier to parallel park because you can see the curb and rear tires in the wide angle.
Finally, I think they encourage folks to park a little farther away from the truck in a parking lot which cuts down on door dings. I park in a lot daily and not one ding in six months.

If I didn't tow my trailer I wouldn't want them either. But I specifically bought my truck with the Max trailer tow package so I got the tow mirrors and the 3.73 gears. I love them. Had the tow mirrors on my Excursion too, and they are a must for me.
As for the price you want, that's very fair. I had to replace one of mine because I screwed it up in a car wash, I know, my fault, shouldn't be in the car wash anyway, but it gets cold here in northern IL in February. Anyway, I paid dealer cost for ONE mirror, unpainted, I have the color match caps. It was $326.00 dealer cost.
