Changed out Tow Mirrors for Standard

I am new to the forum but was referred by someone else. I am a relatively new owner of a 2010 Lariat Screw and took off the tow mirrors and replaced them with standard mirrors. I have the tow mirrors for sale if anyone is interested. I would post in the classifieds but I don't have access yet. PM me if interested.

They are wide and would be great if you needed them for towing or just like the look of the big mirrors.

They do stick out quite a ways, but come the day you want to tow something, you will miss them.

Yeah, they are kind of awkward looking from the outside, but I would never trade mine out as I won't be without the convex mirrors - no blind spot at all.

Defiantly, I towed a small 26' tailer with my 04 with the small mirrors and couldn't see anything behind me. Never again. But if you don't plan on towing, no big deal. I actually love the mirrors on my 2010. Great design with no bind spots. But like a parachute, I'm sure over time they just may reduce MPG. Don't know and don't care.

Another thing I like about my tow mirrors are the puddle lamps - don't know if the standard mirrors have them, but wouldn't want to loose that feature either.

Good point. I forgot the puddle lamps. Great feature for sure, got so used to them, I just took them for granted. Wouldn't like being without them now.

I get people asking me all the time if my truck is a super duty, I think its because its lifted with the tow mirrors. But i think they look better and fit the truck better when its lifted...imo anyway.

They are big, but so is the rest of the truck

ruffn-it...good looking truck. I hear everybody on the the big mirrors for towing. I pull a jeep on a trailer to Moab and tow snowmobiles all winter so the small mirrors work fine for that and I don't have to stop and pull in a mirror to get in my garage every day of my life. lol

Anyhow, I was hoping to get $350 plus shipping but am open to offers.

Thanks guys. Yea i could see having to pull the mirrors in everyday to get into the garage being a real pain, ford needs the auto folds. But for me my truck wont fit height wise into my garage, let alone width wise.

Just a heads up that you can get them for that same price, never installed, from Tasca. Do they have chrome on them? People may be interested in that info.

I agree ruffin-it - being your truck is lifted with large wheels/tires does help the mirrors blend in better.

Mine, having the white caps on the black mirrors, make it look like they stick out even more I think:

But I don't care - still wouldn't change them!
