You said that the ecoboost will cost $1000 more than the 3.7, that's not gonna happen if the 5.0 ALREADY costs over $800 more than the 3.7. According to your math that makes the ecoboost only cost about $200 over the 5.0. It's gonna be more than that.

3.7l v6 - base engine
5.0l v8 - +$830
3.5l tt V6 - unknown, but more than 5.0l.
6.2l v8 - +1000 over 3.5l

Yeah, sorry about that. I read it twice that he was saying that the 6.2 only cost 1000 more than the 3.7 base V6. Guess I am just hard headed. Sorry about that fordmanptw

It's all good...we all make mistakes! Well, I thought I made a mistake once, but I was mistaken!

They also have a 3.15 rear axle available. I hope that 25 figure is not with it because if it is then I don't reckon the 3.73 is gonna make the 24 mpg figure that is floating around

While I know today's engines are much higher quality and the engineering is better, I'm still not sold on a gas powered turbo engine for a Truck. Forced induction in place of displacement, regardless of the technology, just doesn't bode well to me for a vehicle meant to do work, no just play. We shall see. Of course, most of those buying the EB will never put the truck to work in its intended environment, so maybe my point is moot anyway.

Lord knows that forced induction in the semi truck I drive won't work either right? Fact of the matter is, it's a proven technology, there brining it to there vehicle lineup and some people are scared of change. It's here, it will do great, and perform.
