tail gate rattle

I have never heard of this issue before from anyone on this forum. Very strange.
Did you make sure your tailgate step was fully locked into it's closed position? When I first got my 2009, someone opened the step to check it out, but didn't slam it into place when putting it back. For a few days I thought it was weird how the step kinda stuck up a bit compared to the rest of the bedliner top. But then I fiddled with it and realized you kinda have to slam it into place to lock it in good. Just a thought.

Glad to hear its not a common problem. Thinking about taking it to a different dealership. These guys acted like they had never even seen a tailgate step, much less know if it was supposed to rattle or not. Really good deal, but service sucks. Is it a big deal to swap dealerships after you've just bought a new truck, or do they treat you like the ugly stepchild?

If they have the opportunity to take care of you now, you'll buy from them when you are next ready. And... if you do get the opinion they are going to treat you that way... run as fast as you can elsewhere!
Keep in mind you may have to wait your turn when it comes to scheduling appointments into service (notice I didn't say emergency breakdowns) but that's a small price to pay for a dealer willing to remove you from your frustrations.
