Whats the over/under on the EB #s?

So whats the over/under on the EB's numbers re where you'll be happy? I understand we'll find out this Saturday if you guys report from the ride & drive, otherwise we'll know Monday.

Most recent speculation suggests 390/410.

I'll start it off, if its 390/410+ on reg fuel I'll be happy. (thats more than GM 6.2L on reg fuel, & the semi-hemi)

I'd prefer min 405 and 425, but they didn't ask me.

I like your numbers and I'd like to see 21+ real world MPG in an real truck, not a regular cab with 3.15:1 gears. Show me 21+ in a SuperCrew Max Tow with the 6.5' bed and I'm a happy camper.

I'd be happy with the lower numbers if they keep the torque curve as ruler-flat as the car variants...

Much less concerned with peak HP.

Fari enough. If it outpulls all the others, empty & loaded and gets as good or better mpg.... the #'s don't matter.

So, the info is out. The official numbers are 365/420.....

From Ford: Up to 90 percent of the EcoBoost truck engine’s peak torque is available from 1,700 rpm to 5,000 rpm. A typical comparable V8 competitor reaches peak torque at higher engine speeds – around 4,000 rpm – and holds it for a much smaller range.

That means it'll make 375+ tq from 1,700 rpm!

Depending upon the rear gear I am guessing this engine will turn right about 2K rpms at 70 so it should have a ton of pulling power even down that low. I really think this engine will impress some people.

What we need are some dyno graphs of each engine to lay over each other. Darn trucks are not getting any lighter thats for sure.

The Ecoboost looks like it weighs about 240 pounds less than the 6.2L.

According to www.drivef150.com, they'll have a dyno at the facility. I've got my fingers crossed that they'll let us take pictures. It's not like any of this is a secret at this point.

Isn't the GM 6.2 rated at 403/417?

Thanks for clarifying. I was completely unaware that the numbers were for premium.

Looking at max payload figures I thought it was 180 lbs?

I did GVWR - payload:

7650-1960 = 5690 EB
7700-1770 = 5930 6.2

5960-5630 = 240

But that is probably flawed because the 6.2L is only on the Lariat and the EB on lower trim levels which have less equipment and a little lighter.

Don't forget the Raptor, Platinum and HD will also get the 6.2

Courtesy of Rambo

Lariat - 6.2 optional
Platinum - 6.2 optional
Raptor - 6.2 only
Lariat Limited - 6.2 only
Harley - 6.2 only
