From everything I've seen, read and heard about the Ecoboost engine in the F-150, it's going to knock one out of the park. Sure, the old school "no replacement for displacement" crowd is going to hold back. Then, after they get passed by a little bitty V-6 a few times, they'll slowly come over. Keep up the good work Ford!

Yeah, im tired of seeing these Volvo s60 commercials. They brag about 300hp like its alot for a sedan and zero to 60 in 5.8. The taurus will eat its lunch. lol

I wish Ford would offer the 6 speed manual from the Mustang with the 3.7 in the base F-150........

Why just the base? I would strongly consider a manual transmission in a Lariat.

My 2011 F150 will be the first vehicle I have EVER owned that isn't a manual transmission. I love driving a manual - autos take all the 'fun' out of driving.

Though this new 6-speed sounds like it's quite advanced...

Very very few people in full size trucks want manuals, really no point in offering it from a cost standpoint. Besides from todays automatics you can get better performance and economy.

Good choice, according to this head to head the SHO is cheaper, is faster, brakes better, handles better, and gets better mileage.

This is not accurate. The SHO definately is not cheaper. I paid the same for my 300C as I did for my F-150 Lariat. $11K off MRSP. Try doing that with a SHO that startes at $44K in this area. They are very similar 0-60 and in the quarter mile and, like I said, the Hemi is loafing. THere is plenty of potential to up the ante with this engine. I drove both. The handling is not that great on the SHO. I don't like front drive vehilces, so maybe that was it. I'll believe the mileage claim when I see it. None of my Fords are even close to what is posted on the sticker. The Chrysler isn't great on gas either, but it at least is in the ball park of the posted numbers.

I'm not knocking the SHO, but let's keep are facts straight. Do you own either car? If not, you have no basis.

Why on earth would you buy a 300C? They are god awful cars. Infact anything made by Chrysler is awful. They have a bunch of monkeys building their vehicles.

And what evidence do you have that they are such aweful cars? Do you own one? I'm on my second with no major problems. The new Taurus has had its share of issues, just as expected with a first year model.

Yes, I like my F-150 and 2011 Mustang GT, but you all act like Ford is some sort of god. There are other good vehicles out there.

Im not a brand *****. I have owned many makes of vehicles. I will buy a vehicle from kia if i like it. I have had experience with that company and i have 2 coworkers who own a 300c and a 300-srt8 and the 300c is constantly having issues. granted the 300-srt8 is better it has had issues as well.

Well first of it's a Chrysler. They don't make any good vehicles I ain't a fan of the Taurus either though but if I had to choose between the 2 it wouldn't be the 300c! My 2 neibours opposite my house also have the 300c and they have both had none stop issues with them. They are also the most bland boring looking vehicle around. Seems like its the car of choice in the hood in my area. My wife has taken out almost every car available trying to decide what see wants. She was far from impressed with anything from chrysler. Every chrysler vehicle we have owned in our familey has always had issues. As everyone knows they aint know for quality thats for sure. So far the Audi S4 is still tops on her list.

nice thread-jacking in progress here...

And, for the record, everybody knows somebody that had problems with every vehicle. I have friends that won't come near a Ford because their dad thought he had to replace the brake pads on his F150 too often. I guarantee there are people out there that have had jsut as many problems with certain Ford vehicles as there are that had problems with other manufacturers. Brand wars make me tired.
