I know in theory it's no big deal, but I cringed when he said Supercharged V6.

It's ok, some guy in a 2011 EcoBoost will pull up next to you and try to show you up in his supercharged v6. I Foresee much smoke and you nowhere in sight when the light turns green.

Technically he was wrong about that, but he didn't say supercharged V6. He said "because it is supercharged with all that extra power." It is confusing because supercharged can mean it has a supercharger, but supercharged can also mean full of power, energy, etc. How about the mileage? Ford is getting up to 26.9 in their tests. Wooooo!

While I hope it's true, I have my doubts that most people will see that kind of mileage. There are a lot of cars in the 200-250 hp range that get that kind of mileage, ie. the current Impalas. My mom has one and her overall average is 27 mpg, and it will get roughly 31 highway. I just don't see a truck with that kind of power pushing that much weight getting anywhere near that number. My guess is people will see 17-18 mixed driving and around 21-22 highway. If I'm wrong, and it hits 26 mpg, there will be an EB in my driveway before long.

There have already been tests with journalists and several of them have gotten over 30 mpg with the 3.15 EB. The 3.73 best mpg was right at 30 and two got 28 mpg according to Mike at pickuptrucks.com Also Motor Trend got over 22.8 mpg without even trying to get good mileage and with a trailer in tow going over grades, stops and traffic.

We had several folks get much better than 30 but, realistically, I just don't think it's realistic... I think they were ******* it, drafting, and coasting down hills.

During the 'Eco Challenge', I had 22 MPG and drove 'normal'. My normal may be a bit heavier on the pedal but, I just don't believe that 30+ is a realistic number -- unless you're atop the hill and rolling downward.

Whooo-Hooo! Drive impression posted! HA!

I don't think it's realistic either. Most folks are not going to drive like that and most aren't going to get a 3.15 axle either.

I am more interested in what a 3.73 SCAB or SCREW gets, and a 4x4 at that with normal driving.

If it's 22-24 range I will be happy- Down right happy!!!!!
