First Oil Change

Global warming
You can use the new era intervals if you like, I am not one to attempt to convince you otherwise, I just smile at the thought of you being perfectly content in your guided brilliance. I myself have done numerous oil studies that could keep the board reading for hours but, If you have never pulled a fresh engine down after a two hour dyno run and inspected the wear pattern and propagation of mating materials and wear metals in the oil filter media. you could only guess as to what I was typing.
I'm sure if I change the oil half earlier it's better but IMO it's not worthy the money and enviromental waste

Your lab studies are ok i only want to sare my real life experience with more than 186,000 miles and no problem in my truck's motor. 5W20MC and MC oil filter in my 2004 FX4 every 6200 miles (10,000 km) it's just fine.

My truck had a free maintenance plan with the ESP warranty. They would not honor my free oil change at 6 months (3800 miles)! They said it had to be at least 5000 miles. I got it changed anyway for the first change. From now on though, it will be 5000 miles, 6 months or the oil life indicator, whichever comes first.

I got my truck on June 15th and it now has 13,500 miles on it. I have changed the oil 3 times. I have it done at the Ford Dealer and they said MC syn/blend, I can go 5000miles. So, that is what I am going to do. did the first oil change at about 2500 or so, and the filter was very hard to get off.

To each their own.
Change the oil at what ever interval you feel comfortable.
I lean toward the oil analysis as a confirmation step. If all the airlines, railroads, cat, etc rely on used oil analysis then that's good enough for me.
I spent several years working for the railroad analyzing lube oils for wear metals, pH, viscosity, insolubles, etc.
I good analysis can tell you everything from a minor water leak to a faulty air filter. High wear metals indicate a lack of lubrication or a part failure (premature or imminent).
Like they say, You can pay me now or pay me later. Your call.

10,000 kms (6200mi) MC SemiSyn Oil and Filter change
Thanks for your complements!
I use my truck for my business and personal pleasure. I live in Monterrey Mexico and everytime I can go to fitness shows I drive my truck to Denver Co, San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Yosemitee, Ca. Las Vegas NM. Austin and Houston Tx. etc. and inside my country I don't travel to much but I went to Campeche QR, Uruapan Mich,
Also for business I go 2 or more times a month to McAllen Tx.
That's the reason my truck has to much kilometers.
I realy feel confortable driving my truck and I don't think it's to much vulnerable to have something wrong inside the motor during my travels.
By the eay great signature!

Good to see your enjoying your truck. I live in McAllen, Tx and oddly enough I have seen your truck around here. Specifically on 10th street.
