Corsa Install review and thoughts 09 FX4
Got a chance to install the Corsa exhaust last night.
Upon opening the box, the mirrored stainless steel muffler was impressive and definitely quality made.
Install took 2 hours and 15 minutes by myself, it was pretty easy and straight forward.
Important things I learned prior to install.
1. If you remove the spare tire and the two bolts for the heat sheild, you do not have to jack the truck up to remove the stock exhaust. Yes my truck suspension is stock.
2. I used air tools, but they would not be required for this job. Required tools are minimal.
- 3/8 ratchet
- 15mm,13mm,10mm,9/16" Sockets.
- 6-12" Extension
- rubber mallet
- can of PB breaker lubricant
- silicon spray or soapy water for the exhaust mounts.
After a quick battery reset, the sound is much to my liking. Throaty at low speeds and at WOT, but almost non existent at cruising speeds above 40, unless passing. I took before and after video but the mic on my camera was not good enough and resulted in a bunch of feedback.
Overall do I feel any seat of the pants performance gains......None, but I feel the sound makes the driving experience more enjoyable.

I just went back to stock from a Magnaflow SIDO. I think the Corsa would be the only setup I'd consider since they claim ZERO Drone. The stock exhaust is nice to have back on. What's the part about the brakes? Hold the brake for 30? pretty slick, wish I'd have done that with the maggie on.

that would be waaaaay wrong. any vehicle that has a ecu can be reset to engine changes. the point I have been trying to make is, not all engines will require this reset( quote from corsa tech) and will adjust just fine with the intake or exhaust changes. I live in texas, most of my past engine changes required a reset, which is also call a quicky. the other optio is to run it a couple hundred mile serves the same purpose.

I have about 9k on my corsa exhaust and absolutely love it! Didn't bother messing around with any other exhaust when I purchased the my truck. I can assure you the exhaust is quality ZERO DRONE when cruising. Inside the cabin is very quiet I drive about 70 MPH on the highway and I don't know its even there until I have to get on the gas. Hope this helps to all on the fence about this exhaust.
