Wiper arm measurement

I just had my windshield replaced due to a stupid rock hitting me on the interstate. Anyhow, they pulled the wipers off to do the work and now the wipers seem out of whack. Can someone take a quick measurement from the moulding at the bottom of the windshield to the tip of both blades? I'm thinking it's the driver side wiper that's off, but I want to make sure.

If you look on the window you will see marks for where the wiper should sit

well if you just replaced the windshield there wont be any marks you should be able to take them off and eye ball them where you want them or find another f-150 and measure them.

What exactly is out of whack? The wiper arms are indexed, meaning they'll only go on in one position. There's really no way the glass shop could have messed it up.

I've never popped wiper arms off before, but it's like one of them is off by one tooth of a gear. I'm pretty sure it's the driver's side since it appears to swing too far over at the end of the pass and it sits higher in the windshield than the passenger side.

i have never had the wiper arm off on this truck but every other vehicle i have had them off they were on a spline shaft and the arm assembly was also splined and you could change the position of the wiper i have alsohave run across those had a fixed index but these were the ones that would park out of sight.

Newer ones (04 up) have a position key that allows it to only go on in one position. However, if that key is removed, then it works just like the old way where you can adjust the arm any way you want. My guess is they lost the key when the removed the arms to replace the windshield.

There is an alignmnet key on these, but it is only used for production.

The wiper arms can be placed back on the spline in different/wrong locations, it is not a one-only snap in deal.

I will get a pic for you from manual if you like.
Believe me they do leave the key in. I had to remove it on my 04 as with it in, the wiper did not sweep far enough and was too low on the window. On my 07, it was set okay, but once when I removed the arm, the key fell out. Didn't even try to recover it. Have not had the wiper arm off on my 09 yet, so I am sure it is still there. Have had no reason to reposition.

No. Your previous cars are not the same as the 09 and 10.

Ur welcome, all of us posters above have chipped in something helpful for the op I thinks. No matter whether there is or should be alignment pin or not, it does not matter now. Just sounds like they put the wipers on wrong, good thing is it all sounds easily fixable.

Thanks

I have checked, and the 04-08 and my 09 are exactly the same. They have a key way, with removable key and the regular spline that you can use once the key is removed. So if the removed or lost the key, then you just need to adjust using the splines. With the key it only fits one way.
