Super Cab - How Much Room

I plan on getting rid of my too small, uncomfortable, lousy ride 08 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner (previously owned a 01 F150 Super cab 5.4 and loved it )for a 2011 FX2 5.0 sometime this comming summer (going back to Ford and waiting for more info on the 5.0 before buying) and wondering how comfortable a medium/small sized adult will be in the back seats of a Super Cab. Would consider the crew cab but have no children and only a back seat rider on rare occasions. Thank you for your thoughts.

I have a supercab, adults ride back there just fine for a while. A cross country trip may be a pain, but if its just around town or a short trip they will be ok. Plus I have never liked 4-door trucks, so I may be biased.

My 02 was cramped even for my 12 year old. The '10 has noticably more room. Aggain, not a cross country comfort- but much more comfortable.

I went from a screw to an scab. I have kids but only use the truck for trips around town or short runs to the lake. Long trips, we take the minivan then. The scab isn't too bad for space though.

I looked at the new screws too, alot of room back there but the scab meets my needs for now

I had an 09 SCAB fx4 and now I have a 10 SCREW. In my opinion, I think the SCABs look better, and the back is OK for adults for short trips around town. My boys really appreciate the extra room in the SCREW on our trips to Florida. Even though the SCAB in the 09-10 body style has a lot of room, the SCREW is awesome in that regard. I don't know if this is a consideration for the OP, but the SCREWs may be a bit long for some garages. Also, the way the rear doors open on the SCAB can be a pain if you're putting stuff in or getting it out in close quarters.

I have a Scab & had 3 adults sit in the back with no problems. I think that the new Super cabs have more room then the older extended cabs.

I have a really crazy, far-fetched idea...

Why not stop by a Ford dealership and crawl into the back seat to see for yourself?

Thanks for the reply and I do plan to visit the nearest Ford dealer (20 miles) when in the area. We had one here locally but Ford closed it down.

When I test drove a Scab, I sat in the back seat and felt like there was as much room as my 07 Screw back seat.

That's the SuperCrew in the pic that Rambo posted, the caption says SuperCab, though.

We did a six hour trip with a total of four adults and two toddlers in my 2010 super cab XLT, with two adults and one toddler in the back. No complaints of discomfort from the back. The only problem I had was the toddler in the front center kept changing the A/C controls with her feet. Since the console jumper seat is in a fixed position I had to be creative and made a toddler shield out of thick stiff cardboard and ran it from under the cup tray up to my stereo where I ran a bunji cord over to my defrost vent. Not the most stylish of accessories but effective.
