Replacing headline and main wiring harness

Ok, I'm installing the backup camera and a sync microphone in the headliner this weekend. Things went well replacing the headliner harness, except the microphone will not work. Called TASCA and they are sending me another MIC, not sure if the system needs to be flashed for the new MIC. So interior install went well, review mirror, replaced and now the compass display only shows "CAL" any ideas on that one?

Now the big problem, replacing the main wiring harness. Things were going well until I got to the connection for the fuel pump. I can't get that connector loose and I broke the clip, it is hard to reach the connection. What do you guys think about splicing the wires and connecting that way so the original connection stays on?

Thanks for any input.

CAL means the compass needs to be calibrated. info is in your owners manual.
