Did Ford ever fix the lousy AC's ?

As much as I love my 08', one of the few things I hate about it, is that the temp regulation for both the AC and the heater, are totally lame. For more than two years, I've gone from cooking, to freezing, to cooking, to freezing Their is just no sweet spot on the temp controls

I've read their were some possible fixes for this, but have never gotten around to working on that.
And BTW, this seems so common on the 04-08's, it really doesn't seem like I just got a bad one, but rather, that their was a design flaw from the start.

I'm just curious if the 09-11's have addressed / fixed this issue ?

I've put 1500 miles on my 2010 since I got it 1 1/2 weeks ago and so far I've had zero problems with the temps changing. That always bothered the crap out of me when I had my '08.

I've read post complaining about the air conditioning on the 09 and 10's as well, but I have no complaints with my 09.

I used to get complaints of too hot or too cold from my family all the time in my 99 SCab, but once I traded for my 2003 SCrew with the EATC all complaints went away. My 2009 SCrew also has the EATC with the dual zone climate control and all are happy. I wonder if the issue is related to the controls or the actuallyheating and cooling system?

I have no problems with my 05 XLT's a/c or heating. Manual controls FTW. Set it and forget it. I have no need for gadgets.

Check out TSB 08-23-6. Ford came out with a revised blend door actuator motor that cures the problem of having the unit "hunt" for the right temperature. This is a 2009 part no., so the newer models should already have it, if not a different motor altogether.

My 2010's A/C sucks in hot weather. It is fine when it is 75 to 85 out, but when it is 98 to 105, it sucks severly in that weather. The normal setting is useless in almost any weather. Coming from a Chev that froze you no matter the outside temp, this is a real disappointment. To pay this much for a truck and have them say, "well it's in spec" is very frustrating, and will be the reason I won't get another Ford again.

Haven't heard of a TSB on the 10's. I think it is designed this way.

Another view

When were were towing through Fresno and the Grapevine this summer outside temp ranged from 98-107. Kept the cabin cool with no complaints all afternoon long. I have a '09 Plat Screw.

I was never able to get the A/C issue in my 2010 fixed, hence one of the reasons it is now gone.

Well mine worked great untill about a week ago! Now it just blows warm air. Took it to service dept on Sat and they said the compressor is out. Should be fixed tomorrow. Go figure I only have 13,000 miles on the truck, I've never had anything go wrong with a truck this early on. When I took it to the desert and it was 116+ it cooled like a champ.

I have to run mine on max a/c all the time, and even then it doesn't keep me cool when it is really hot. You should only have to run the max when you first get going and move it to normal. I have never been able to use Normal for anything. That is not good A/C performance at all.

Seems like to me that the guys with the Nav system, or climate control have better luck with their A/C than with the normal manual type a/c.

I have not had any problems with mine. I'm in Souteast Texas with temps this summer avg. 90-100 for July and August with probably 50% to 80% or more humidity and it cooled fine. I would run it on MaxAC for a little while then be able to put it normal most of the time, and I have black leather interior.

In hot weather, my A/C does not get nearly cold enough for my taste.
