No 6.2 option for the 2011 F150 FX4?

IMHO:
EB 6 with turbo/ BIG 8!
can not beat displacement, I know some people at ford at got an 2010 FX4 as I knew it would not have the 6.2 as an option and dont want to jump into an untested 5.0. I don't like the lariat due to leather and cheap wood trim. I am not about to jump in to new engines that have only been tested in light duty (cars) applications. The 6.2 was made for the super duty and is an high end option for the F150. I say give it 2 or 3 years and we will get in in all but the lowest trim levels. Turbos/supercharges always have very high heat issues heat is bad for all things.

But, to each their own.

I agree with tstjohn. I highly doubt the 6.2L will be available in more trims than it is now. It would kill Ford on their CAFE numbers; that's why it's only available in certain trims and/or with certain packages, and also why it's such an expensive option at that. CAFE standards are only getting more strict. If anyone is dead set on a 6.2L F150, they better get it while the getting's good!

It will make more power and be more fuel efficient, BUT will they put it in the F150...

I wonder if it would really sell. I know us power hungry forum guys want it for the most part, but what about the avg Joe Sixpack?
I look at GM. 09+ they offer the 6.2l in many trim levels and its almost impossible to find one. Or see one. (pipe out the back vs. side on 5.3L) Most GM schmucks are happy with the blah 5.3L.

i'll start posting links to the thousands of turbo charged VW engines, WRX's, Lancers, Porsches and then all the supercharged vehicles too.
hey check out the blower on this thing!
the posters argument is completely invalid, not to mention i doubt ford would let anything happen within their control to tarnish the name they're building for themselves in the emerging automotive cold-war between ford and toyota. but if he still wont buy the concept, then so be it - im sure he has a reason.
