No pretty sure it's leaking, you could see where it ran down the shock body and left a little puddle on the shock bolt when i wiped it with my finger.I have a cement driveway and you can see where it's been leaking on the cement.

Later Mark.

Count me as another one with a leaking shock. I have 2010 with 13,000 miles and I was under there today and saw that my left rear shock was leaking. I was wondering where the stains were coming from in my garage.

Does a leaking shock greatly affect the ride?

a leaking shock will affect your ride the more fluid that leaks out = less damping i would take it to dealer and have it replaced or upgrade your shocks always replace in pairs and i would do the fronts also.

i had one leaking a bit im sure of it. however i just replaced all of them with 5100's . didnt want to deal with warranty. might just take shocks in to see if they can be 'replaced' any how. i know they mostly are designed to dampen. the ones removed with 40 K on them, you can compress them. - back ones take about 1 min to fully extend. nice

Another one here with two rear leaking shocks on my 2010 F150 XL, about 6,000 miles. Dealer replaced under warranty.

left rear shock

I had a flat yesterday on the left rear. When tire was removed we noticed the shock has failed. We had replaced the tires 3 months ago and all was fine however with 38280 miles the dealership stood on the 36K warranty and said tough. Hate to hear that as we have bought 3 vehicles in the last 3 years with them...sure going to miss buying from there.....

I would say it depends on the warranty. If you have warranty, just have the shocks replaced by the dealer, if you are out of warranty, then Id go aftermarket, Bilstein or Rancho or Fox, or *insert shock of choice here*.

Not to sound rude here, but the number of vehicles you bought from them has nothing to do with the issue at hand. Yes, you are a loyal customer, and that is great, but expecting every repair for free because of said purchases is expecting alot of the dealer. Your vehicle was over the 36k mileage point, so the dealer had every right to refuse to cover it, plain and simple. If dealerships burdened the cost of all repairs, the dealership wouldnt survive. If it bothers you that much, go aftermarket, get some better shocks to begin with.

I meant this post in the nicest way possible. Its just my opinion as well.
