Do you park on a hill or incline? I have a 36 gallon tank and my fuel gauge is always off. I've read and been told by the dealer that the larger tank/ fuel gauge have this problem if you park on an incline due to the baffling and where the pick up is. Unfortunately my driveway is pretty steep so I've learned to not rely on my gauge and what it says for how many miles I have left before empty, I just reset my trip odometer and go off the mileage driven for that tank.

The dealer should see it from the build sheet by the VIN. Most 2010 screws had the 36 gal tank. I get 450-500 miles on the DTE. I usually fill up a little below the 1/4 and it is 24-28 gallons. The tank is very long it takes up the whole frame. I will measure it for you. Mine is FX4 w tow 5.4 etc.

Sounds like you have the 26 or whatever the standard tank is with 345 DTE.

My 2010 F-150 brochure says that the 26 gallon tank is standard with 36 gallon having select availability on the XL/STX/XLT/LARIAT trim lines, and the 36 gallon standard on the FX4 trim line. Not sure what config is required to get the big tank on the XL/STX/XLT/LARIAT trim lines.

Simple arithmetic on your numbers says you have the 26 gallon tank.

Dude. Simple math. Using the info you provided above, you have a 26 gallon tank. No question about it.

Now, if you're numbers were wrong, who knows.

Do you have 5.4 or towing?

345 mi DTE is 26gal along with 17gal fill at 1/4 tank.

My 36gal is 24 gal at 1/4 and 450-550 DTE. 36 is 18-20 gal at half tank.

Have the dealer run your VIN for the build sheet.

im actually at the dealer right now getting an alarm put in im gonna ask about the gas tank but from what everyone is saying it makes sense that it is a 26 gallon although the tank is huge it goes from the driver seat all the way back to the rear axle im gonna take a look at some of the other f150s here oh and my needle is half way between half and 3/4 tank if that makes a difference...i didnt drive it at all after i filled up to when i got in it this morning and it does have a tow package with the 3.73 gearing and it has a 4.6 liter engine

thanks for all help

Go here http://services.forddirect.fordvehic...icker.pdf?vin= add your vin to the end of the link. It will show your window sticker so you can see what tank you have.

It is my understanding that 4x4s have the 36 gallon tank (with the exception of the Raptor and possibly the Harley). I'm confused on how you have a screw STX though. I could have swore STXs only come in regular cab or supercab...

yeah, don't know how you can have a STX Screw, there is no such truck.

anyways, for 2010 all 4x4's have 36 gallon tanks except for Raptor and regular cab short bed 4x4's. The Harley is the only 4x2 truck to get a 36 gallon tank, all other 4x2's are 26 gallon. The official 2010 order guide (USA models) clearly spells this all out.
