2010 Transmission problem ?
I have noticed in stop and go situations that as I am coming to a stop the transmission will sometimes "slam" into gear, "slam" is the correct term to use. This weekend I was riding with the windows down and twice heard the rear tires chirp as it downshifted. All of this is in normal city type driving or red light to red light situations. On longer stretches the shifting is normal. Any techs or anyone with knowledge of the situation : Is this normal ?

Out of curiosity are you doing the following (in this order)
-Driving at a decent speed (~45MPH or so)
-Pressing break easy (to avoid coming to a complete stop before a red light)
-Jumping on the gas to accelerate
if so, I have noticed incredibly weird things happen as well. If I jump on the gas hard as described above, the tanny will down shift and the truck sounds like it's at WOT (wide open throttle) - although the peddle is only 3/4 or so down.
If that's what's happening to you, well at least someone else has your problem :P
Ether way - if it's repeatable - have someone from your dealer ride with you and show them.
Not sure if my driving habits have changed, but I should note that this never happens to my truck anymore (~18,750 mi). This really only bothered me during the first 5k or so. *shruggs*

Is there a TSB number for this flash? So I can refer to it if I take mine back, not having any issues just if theres a newer TCM flash I might look into it. Thanks.

Welcome to the club. Transmission issues will bother us till we get rid of the trucks.

Transmission issues did bother me until I got rid of my truck. I drove the 2011s at the drive event and they did not have this issue. Maybe there is something to driving the crap out of them, as we sure did there. Maybe that is the best way to get the trannys to perform correctly, or the fixed the issue, which I believe the latter. I think the trannys are a major flaw on the 2010 models and I will be interested to see if they hold up over time.

I think it's more a matter of getting the calibrations sorted - why they can't (yet) and some aftermarket tuners can, is beyond me.... it was ihe same way with the '04-'08 slushboxes ...
I do agree with you though - driving WFO tends to relegate tranny concerns to the back of the bus

i have a 2010 FX2 and im having some issued as well.
if i am sitting at a stop and i take off normal it feels like there is a hesitation and then it grabs and goes. almost like it tries to take off in 2nd then decides to switch back down to 1st. if i get on the gas hard from a stop i dont notice this.
the other issue is the down shift. if im cruising down the HWY and i need to step on it to pass somebody there is like a 3 second delay until it downshifts and gets going. its almost dangerous, to the point where i just manually switch down to 3rd now if i have to pass quickly.
mine is going to the stealership this week to see if they can get this sorted out. only complaints i have about the truck are the stock stereo quality and the trany.
