Praise for the '11 engine lineup from an unlikely place
Ford surely has a winner on its hands with the new engine lineup for 2011 when the guys at GM Insidenews review the truck and conclude, "the 2011 Ford F-150 is the real deal."
Every engine in the lineup outperformed the 5.3 L Silverado tester.

From the article...
Ford F-150 6.2 V8- 5.75 seconds
Ford F-150 5.0 V8- 5.815 seconds
Dodge Ram 5.7 V8-5.915 seconds
Ford F-150 3.5 EcoBoost V6: 6.185 seconds
Ford F-150 3.7 V6- 6.498 seconds
Chevy Silverado 5.3 V8- 6.528 seconds
If the 'track' was the same as Dallas, it was approx 600' long.

X2,I agree RamJet502 what a jack ***.He said he would take a 6.2 Denalli against any 2010 F-150.Well i seen a Raptor with a 6.2 at the dealership today which one do you think would win off road?I also think my 2010 F-150 Supercab 4x4,4.6 3V,6 speed auto,3.73 LS axle would give a 5.3 a run for it's money.I have a Popular pechanics where a 2009 Chevy with 5.3 ran a 16.37 at 86 mph.I ran a 16.257 at 84.89 mph with my 4.6 3V bone stock with 750 miles on it.

I just read the entire thread. I think this Ramjet guy is looking for a tall building to jump off of. This is the same guy who says the 5.3 Chebby engine is a better puller than the 5.4 and I have never been a big fan of that engine. Fact is, Ford has turned up the wick on their only real weakness and some of the fan boys cant accept it. It is what it is and I dont doubt Ford may have skewed things in their favor with gearing.
Im sure the next gen small blocks will be great engines. But will the rest of the truck measure up? GM is woefully behind now. Ford just keeps churning out good products at what seems like a neck braking pace. Gm takes forever to get something to market and when they do their marketing arm(if it even exists) does a sh#@% job of delivering.

The reason why EB was slower for him than the other V8's is because he drove the EB slower. Duh. Autoblog had a story on all the times and EB beat every engine including the 6.2.

Regarding leg room, my tournament fishing partner drives a 4 door chevy half ton and my knees actually touch the dash in the FRONT seat. Granted, I'm almost 6'-4" tall, but I'm still amazed at the design failure of that truck. If I sit up straight as an arrow, back firmly pressed into the seat, I have roughly 1" between my knees and the dash. I'm constantly checking that the seat is all the way back and it won't go any further...
