Towing is a factor for me, but it's not the end-all decision maker.
Like I said before if he isn't doing a significant amount of towing get the 2010. I tow almost every weekend and my truck is adequate but could definitely use some more power. I tow quite a bit with my truck and the 5.4 has to work too hard for my taste to accelerate when getting on the highway, passing another vehicle or when going up a hill. I towed a 6000 lb trailer from Tucson, AZ to Tacoma, Wa (Roughly 1600 miles) and I would have liked to have more power especially in the hills of northern California.
In the end its just my opinion.

Thanks for the suggestions, looks like he's probably going to hold off for a bit.

I would go for the 2010 for the incentives, but if I waited for the 2011, I would have to get the 6.2!

I don't think you would want the 6.2, unless it is your weekend ride. Yes, it is a blast to drive, but the gas mileage likely is aweful. The 5.0 and EB engines will be much better for daily drivers. Did I mention that 6.2 is huge? On the displays at the Ford event, it made the EB look like a go cart engine!
