2011 F-150 4x4 EcoBoost MPG 15 City 21 Highway

Looks like EcoBoost ratings are now out for F-150. Some guy got the VIN number off the truck he test drove, and until recently the MPG was blank, but now it says 15 City 21 Highway.

For a 4x4, that is great. Figure 2-3 more for the 2wd.

I'm dissapointed with that 15-21. It's really not much better than the 5.0. which means it will most likely only see 18-19 on the freeway.

Ford is going to have a much harder time selling the EB now to those dyed in the wool V-8 owners.
Now I'm not really interested in the EB and not interested in the 5.0 at all.

Too bad.

I am not knocking anyone that orders the EB -but I agree.

15mpg city for a V6, wow, not that impressive at all. My 2010 fx4 5.4L with a 6in lift and pushing 35's gets 12mpg city.

I don't understand why some of you think a 5500 pound brick is going to get 20mpg driving around town. It simply will not happen. A 4x2 with the ecoboost should get excellent mileage if you don't drive like a race car.

I have never thought a 5500 pound Brick should get 20mpg,but that is the point.

21MPG wouldn't have been such a big deal but I saw all kinds of BS by these Ford people on these Ecoboost tests bragging about 22-26 mpg at 70 mph +. The problem is 21 MPG isn't really 21 but more like 19 at best.

I knew it was too good to be true. This is why Ford took so long to release these numbers. All the hype and now only 2 MPG better than the 5.0.

When I drove the ecoboost around town. (Crew cab FX4, 3.73, fully loaded with 3 large men) I was getting 19.2mpg. The sales guy that is driving it across the country to all the different dealers for test drives said he gets about 24mpg doing 70mph.

The truck will get better mpg than stated, the expected numbers are higher than the 15/21 in the article.

24 is amazing!
then i can sell my subaru (gets 27) and trade in my 04 and not have 2 vehicles anymore!
i drive 26 miles one way to work 6 days a week. MPG is the deal breaker for me.

Maybe, but were taking about mpg here. Cant see that big of a steering difference to really mater, and isn't it the same tranny.
