4-5 second downshift delay?

I have experienced this twice now in my stock 2010 Fx4 built 12/09. From highway speeds I let off and coast or lightly brake. I needed to merge quickly so I floor the gas pedal. Nothing happens I just coast for 3-5 seconds. Then the trans bangs into third and accelerates normally. Anyone had or fixed this?

This is exactly what I have complained about. Mine did the same thing. It was built in November 2009. To me it was totally unacceptable for driving where I do, which is DFW like you. This is one reason I no longer own it. It is downright dangerous and one shouldn't have to buy a tuner or got to the dealer a million times to complain about the tranny to get a new vehicle right. Good luck with yours.

My dad's '10 does the same thing. It takes an honest 3 seconds to start pulling. There is no way that it's normal or should be taking that long, it's a danger for a lot of driving situations.

Not sure if this will help, but check out this thread...

Seems that most vehicles can be calibrated this way now.

Sounds like the same thing that was happening with mine:

I ended up bringing it to the dealer, told them what was happening...their tech drove it and verified the problem. I believe they said they loaded a new strategy or something along those lines, regardless of how they worded it...it solved the problem 100%.
