Mine just started doing this too. Passenger seat heater works fine but driver seat heater does not. Like yours, light comes on for 2 seconds then turns off. I have the fx4 luxury edition but same scenario.

I had mine fixed finally. They had my truck forever and a day. I think they replaced a relay and then some other trouble that was going off. Be prepared to leave it for them for a bit.

I had this happen also. Turned out to be the control box under the passenger seat AND the fan in the drivers seat. Covered under warranty.

Same issue here...really needed/wanted the heated seats during some of these cold spells we've had...

There should be a little black box somewhere prolly under the seat pan or check for a relay in the panel. If it is under the seat it is square, just a hair bigger than the relay. It will only have a couple of wires running to it. Open the little box and there is a relay inside. Try that. It is the sasme relay you can get at your local parts store.

I work for a company that builds the interiors for the escape, tribute and the mariner...I am sure it is pretty close to the same.

Mine did the same thing - the heater light would stay on for about 15 seconds and then go off, if I tried to activate it again, the light would go off right away.

It was like this for about 3 weeks, in the coldest weather we've had for a while and I couldn't get time to go to the dealer. Then it just started working again.

I didn't have a change to really look into the issue, but I noticed the dual LED's come on only while the button is depressed. I did not try the passenger seat. If the blower motor is bad, will both seats not work?

I did a bit of investigating tonight...the heat or A/C works on initial start up for approx 30
sec then goes off and will not come back on until the vehicle is off for an hour or so.

The passenger side works fine, both heat and A/C.

My drivers seat heat went out the other day. Dropped it off at dealer. The heater pad was bad. It was replaced under warranty. I think I am going to get an extended warranty. Had 3 things go so far this year.I am sure it would be pretty costly to get a power steering switch, heater pad and ac blower module replaced.

jimmyv13, I don't have the A/C seats. If you are talking my A/C controls then yes it worked bot the blower was at full blast. I thought it was strange that my driver heated seat and my A/C blower malfunction at the same time. The service dept said it was just coincidence.

Sorry, poorly worded question. Yeah, I was asking about the cooled seats. I really don't want to start throwing parts at this thing, that can get pricey real quick. Do you guys think the service tech would help me out and give up the diagnostic procedure for this issue?
