Traction Control never REALLY turns off?

I tried to have some fun in the snow by turning off traction control. I thought I had read that it will still kick in and it did..NO FUN!! LOL

I was trying to show my boys some fun powerslides. Before it could really get fun TC took over. It does make me feel better knowing when my wife drives it she should have NO probs.

Hmm did you try pressing and holding the button?

its a little tricky to turn the TC completely off, you're basically holding the button for way longer than 5 seconds, more like 10. when you press and hold the button the TC image will come on and blink for 5 seconds then turn solid. when you've COMPLETELY turned it off it will blink very briefly again.

sway control and stability control are still on above 35 MPH though

Are you sure your RSC wasn't kicking in if you are going sideways?

Which dosn't stop you from doing donuts in the snow. Even pressing the tc once will let you do your donuts. Ive done some circular plowing to prove that.

Brake applied traction control is always on, and there is really reason not to. That is like an electronic LSD that applies brake to one wheel that is spinning faster than the other on the same axle. Stability control can be disabled below 35mph by holding the RSC button, but remember that if you spin the tires over 35mph, it may think you are moving that fast and come back on.

When in doubt, RTFM!

It snowed here also and took my son out in the truck and it came on . I held the RSC until it flashed on the dash (the truck with the burnout ) and I was able to drift and do donuts and have fun in the snow with it never coming on Butt I also dont think it went over 30 ......but I was busy with keeping the truck on the road and not hitting anything
