Ford's own commercials say 16/22 for 4x2. This matches the stickers. 4x4 gets 15/21. If you are listening to a salesman tell you this, I'd get a new salesman. I'm sure you can get more than what the EPA certifies it as, but that holds true for all engines.

I actually get over the new EPA ratings but my driving style is good.

If anything, I expect the 6.2 to completely go away in the F-150 pretty soon due to tightening CAFE requirements - unless they can find a way to get a F-150 a GVWR rating over 8500#. Even that may not work if the proposed "footprint" formula goes through for light and medium-duty trucks.
