Thumbs up Ford Customer Service

On Monday I took my vehicle in for service (for the 6th issue) and for the second time, they stated that the problem could not be duplicated. So after driving away, 20 min after the dealership closed, I smell anti-freeze in the cab, again. Furious I called Ford and spoke with a very nice woman who took my information and apologized. Today, I took the truck to a different dealership and TA-DA, they found the problem in 20 minutes. About an hour after I left I received a call from Ford Customer Service. The lady was very nice on the phone and wanted to make sure that the problem was rectified. She then offered to give me an extended warranty (for free) for my troubles. At this point I am completely shocked. This is not something I expected. The only thing that I wanted was my truck fixed. I accepted the warranty to 5/75,000 and thanked her for Ford's offer, and told her that I am blown away by the gesture.

Anyone ever heard of this before?

I think there is a customer service e-mail link on Ford's website. Send them an e-mail about the service you received. They like to hear good things also as well as the bad. I'm not sure, but I would think any good praise for a dealer would help them win awards to hang on the wall, while bad remarks keep the awards away.

What was it they found that was leaking antifreeze in the cab? My 2010 has a light smell and (only occasionally) of antifreeze but I figured they would not be able to find the leak until it gets worse.

Anit-freeze in the cab, ugh.... Nothing like paying $1000 in labor to fix a $50 problem...

What # did you call at Ford? I have a repeating problem that service can't figure out that affects the safety of the truck. Thanks.

That's just it, I have no idea. They said they found a small leak, but did not elaborate. I'm not a mechanic, but it I'm smelling it in the cab, I would think around the heater core. I never found anything wet though.

The number to Ford is 866-631-3788.
