New F150, New to the Forums....

Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself to the forums. Just bought a 2011 F150 FX4. The stats-

Crew Cab
5.5 ft Box
5.0L V8
Fx Plus Pkg
Sunroof
Trailer Brake Control
Rear Camera
Tailgate Step
20" Alloy Wheels
Gray in color.

Some pics-

Pic of the Interior

Pic of the truck when I was playing in some snow

Another Pic in the snow

On top of a local hill here

Side view of the truck.

Pic of the Instrument Cluster

And a Fairbanks, Alaska sunset for your viewing pleasure. Never mind it was 3:30pm, lol. Anyway, so far I have been pretty impressed with the truck. Had been looking at them for about 3 mos before I finally went in to buy one. Pretty much got exactly what I had wanted right off the lot. Actually, technically, the truck had just arrived in town that day, so it was right off the body shop lot. While I cant come to too many conclusions just yet, I do have a few initial observations-

The good-
-I have really enjoyed the 5.0, the power seems to be pretty smooth and just a tad better than that of the 6.0 in my 08 chevy that I traded in(although, admittedly the difference in feeling is probably more the 6sp trans as compared to the 4sp in the chevy).
-36 gallon gas tank is very nice. Its a small touch you dont really think about, but having a 600+ mile range is very nice-especially in Alaska.
-The LCD in the instrument cluster seems pretty useful, although admittedly I have not figured it out completely yet
-Cavernous interior as compared to my Chevy. I could put some of my taller friends in the back seat and not feel bad about it.

The Bad-
-Not a fan of the pirelli scorpions that come stock with the 20" wheels. They do not seem to maintain much traction as compared to the Goodyear eagles on the 20" wheels off my old silverado. Furthermore, I didnt like the eagles to begin with, so I am really not happy with these pirellis. Think I am gonna have to spend some change to get a better set of tires.

Overall I am very happy so far with the new truck. Now, to purchase some aftermarket and punish my wallet even further.......

.
I am not impressed with the Pirelli tires myself. The slushy snow the other night was a nightmare to drive in with these tires. I am going to keep them for the summer, but I am changing them by the fall next year! Not sure if I am lifting or not yet.

Hmmm, lets try this-

There we go, a little bigger pics for you guys. Its good(well, bad actually) that several of us have noticed those tires. I am going to keep them through the summer, but I am not sure after that. Either way I am planning on getting a set of Blizzaks for it, and if they dont work out well this summer I might be looking at getting a new set of summer tires in 2012.

I would ditch the mudflaps, but they are....wait for it......required by law where I live. I will give you a minute to process that bit of ridiculous legislation, and then tell you that I do at least have a lower profile set of contoured ones on their way. So hopefully that will help a bit anyway.......

You'll like the countoured ones. Even though some suggest you take the tires off to install. Mine were like that.

I definitely have not been impressed to say the least. And, like you can see from a few other posts, clearly I am not the only one. Makes me curious to see if the pirellis make it to the 2012 f150's given some of the feedback here.
