I think 0% for 60 months usually happens when gas hit an all time new high and truck sales fall off a cliff. (which may happen again this summer). Also, Record unemployment combined with a 20% drop in the stock market will sometimes get a 0%@60m deal...
Really, though, 0%@60m is a rare deal, at least out of the big mfg'ers. I see 0%@36m a few times a year (truck month, end of year clearance), but personally I would not wait on 0%@60m.
Personally, I am waiting on Truck Month rebates (next month, hope they are good this year) + State Farm bank has 3.99% for 60 months...

I financed my wife's '11 Fusion at 2.89% APR and my '11 STX at 3.38% (12/30/10) through my Insurance Co./Lender.
I always try to purchase on the last day of the month when they are working hard to earn your business.
There should be some decent rebates & incentives this month. Interest rates are really low so If you need a vehicle now, why wait for something that may or may not happen?

Remember it is rebates OR 0 for 60, rarely both. You usually make out better taking all of the rebates and then financing with your own credit union or such around 3-4%. That is how I did my last 4 new trucks. The 0% ends up being worth the same as the 5-6k in rebate cash.
or finance with Ford for the 1k cash and then refi with your own...

When I have applied at dealers for financing, they usally run my credit thru about 100 different banks, and offer me what ever is the "best" deal (usually from the Credit Union of Kickbacks, in Timbucktoo, Nowhere, USA). It can really knock you credit score, if you are not careful.
My .02/plan -
Get your Credit Union or Bank to pre-approve you before you head to the dealer. They will also give your credit score. If Ford Credit has a special rate or rebate, ask them what score do you need, and if you are close enough, tell them to only run your approval thru Ford Credit. If you can't get the FC deal, or if there is no deal, use the pre-approval to get the Truck. First stop after leaving the dealer, head in Insurance for the "new car inspection" and ask about financing thru them, and what credit score you need to qualify...

For Texas, I think Truck month is March.

I agree with zx12-iowa...that is exactly how it works. Usually if your credit score is low they (the dealership finance dept.) will run your application thru a variety of loan institutions/banks. If you score is pretty decent you should make it a habit of specifying either your own bank/credit union or (for instance) Ford Credit only.
For whatever reason, the credit bureau's "frown" upon more than 2 to 6 credit inquiries per year, depending on the bureau (for other type of purchases or card applications), after that it will start negatively affecting your score. But multiple inquiries that involve an auto or home buying transaction are treated different.

As someone who did this a week ago, I can give my insight on it. The current incentives for a 2011 F150 are-
$2,500 collective cash incentives
$1,000 Bonus Financing Cash if financing through Ford Credit
$1000 XLT Only Bonus Cash
$500 Student/Military/or Public Servant Bonus
I am not sure exactly what the incentive financing offers are, but I remember them being worse than what was offered through my bank normally-so I would avoid those. I personally took them all except for the XLT bonus(bought an FX4) and I am going to just refinance through my bank immediately. I think the loan they gave me was at like 2x the rate the bank was offering me, which is somewhat astonishing. However, for an extra $1000 I'll just go through them and refi. The finance manager did say that it would be a good idea to make 3 payments to ford, b/c if I didn't they may/may not lend to me in the future. I am not putting too much bank in that, but others may be concerned about that. I have not seen a whole lot of 0% for 60mos, and to be perfectly honest the last ford I remember seeing that on is the 2010 Fusion(which I bought for my GF). And, also, I am in agreement with the two guys above me in that your credit score is unaffected by multiple inquires for the same type of loan in a 30 day period. All of them bundled together hit your credit score for 5 points. Just an FYI. Anywho, good luck on the new truck hunt-I am sure it will work out well for you!

I got a mailer a few weeks back, but the rebates or 0% was only for 2010 leftovers.
