XLT reg. Cab 5.0L or FX4 SC/EB or Raptor

I've rounded it down to those 3 to choose from for my new truck.

Which should I go with?

Obviously the raptor would be most ideal, but I would have to sell off the lightning to make up the price difference. The fx4 is just slightly less $, so I would probably end up waiting a year or 2. The reg. cab would probably have the same performance and fuel economy as the fx4, if not more, and could probably get it fairly soon.

Priorities are:

1) performance
2) fuel economy
3) space

Wait on the Fx4.

Raptor gets 8-12mpg city.
Regular Cab XLT has no space

I guess I should've specified the priorities are in order, so I don't care about space, and barely care about fuel economy.

If you don't need the space, keep the Lightning for your play toy and buy the reg. cab - why sell the L to get a Raptor when you can have the L and a 2011?

That's true.

It also snows here 6mths of the year, so the raptor would get in good playtime too.

Plus, I've have a 68 mustang that I want to restomod.

Just weighing my options.

Hell skip the XLT and get an STX now that you can get the 5.0L in the STX Reg Cab too. Save a few more dollars and imo get a better lookin truck.

Woops, ya, I would probably go with the stx. Never cared for the big chrome front grille.

One hit on the raptor, no electric power steering assist. Wonder why.

Don't you think that is kind of personal? That would be like me asking you the following.

Which should I date?
Brunette with small athletic build who is cute, with big brown eyes?
Blonde with big ***** a bit taller with a slightly more athletic build?
Red Head with a butch like appearance that will make you cry out to baby Jesus everytime you get on her?

I mean really how do you choose?

XLT/STX has no convenience package option, with the 4.2" screen. Was hoping to get that.

Was just looking to get some insight as to what everyone else can't live without.

I just got a reg cab STX. It's a 4X4 but with the V6. I may not be that concerned about mpg now but if the gas prices spike, I don't want my fuel bill hitting me so hard. For me the V6 is enough.

I agree with others who say get the STX and keep the L. I had an '04 L and wish that I still had it. I couldn't afford to have more than one at a time. Also don't have the space. If you can find an STX with the 5.0 you should have enough power to keep you happy, and then when the snow is gone you can fire up the L to hear the sweet music that the M112 makes.

Good luck!
