Looked at every Platinum Ecoboost in East Texas on Web, 36 gallon?

I've spent all morning looking up zip codes and pulling up window stickers for 2011 Platinum 4x4 Ecoboost F150's from Houston to Dallas, they all have the standard (or 26 gallon) fuel tank. Is the 36 gallon even an option on the Ecoboost? I love my 36 gallon tank in my 2009, my 5.4 is just a suck at towing.

36g tank is not an option on eco-boost trucks.

And you just shattered my world...

Does anyone know if it will be at any point in the future? I am not real keen on giving up my 36 gallon tank, its too nice when towing.

Dealer said the truck I ordered has one but I haven't crawled under there to see but the window sticker did say standard fuel tank.

There is a lot of talk in other threads about the 36 gallon being standard on 4x4 super crews, and someone posted a chat with a Ford rep to "confirm it" however in my searching I saw a couple of 6.2 4x4 Super Crews that said specifically 36 gallon fuel tank, while all of the ecoboosts said std fuel tank.

It's not an option, at least for now. Lots of speculation why, but no one other than Ford knows that answer. The EB does require a different high pressure fuel pump from what some have said, and that might have something to do with it. They can't produce the EB fast enough as is, so I'm sure they aren't too worried about it yet. Maybe we'll see the 36 as an option later this year.

My dealer told me the 36 gallon is a fleet option for ecoboost XL and XLT only. Anyone have an inside scoop at Ford??

I'll be honest the lack of a 36 gallon tank is a deal breaker for me right now. I would love increased MPG, but I'd much rather have increased MPG and more RANGE because of it, not just increased MPG and the same or less range. When I'm not towing I average 14mpg in my 5.4. I'd have to average 19.5mpg to get the same range I do now with a 26 gallon tank.

The good news is the Ford chat said it "will be" an option on SuperCrew. Nothing about it having to be 4x4. The bad news is we don't know when. Latest we heard from Ford was it was not currently available and no announcement has been made. Many think this means it will be an option but they don't want us to wait which is understandable I guess but I hope they understand many of us will wait and this is a deal breaker of sorts so lets get it done ASAP.

I was about to head down to the dealer to pick up a 2011 Ecoboost Platinum 4x4 tonight until this. Maybe I'm being a baby, but I will not buy an Ecoboost unless I can get a 36 gallon tank. There are a lot of expanses in Texas (especially West Texas) and the more range the better.
