2010 somethings wrong

howdy

My 2010 f150 fx4 5.4l is acting up. When i hit the gas it makes a vacuum sound right in front of the driver side under hood. ANd it wont accelerate quickly as usual. made an appointment with dealer. ANy ideas? I have no mods on the engine

When you opened the hood to check this out, what did you see?

Everything seems normal under hood. Nothing different than normal. I couldn't press the gas and be watching to hear the noise so I couldn't tell if it did it then. But sounds ok idling.

Sounds like some type of leak? Have you checked the air filter to see if it's clogged up?

I havnt opened that up but where the heck is my transmission fluid dip stick!?

A piece of insulation has come apart from the fender well and is infront of the air box inlet opening

You don't have one that is easily reached.

There is a dip stick, but it is next the the catalytic converter under a screw on cap.

Evidently this has become a common issue. I've heard of it a half dozen times on the forums over the past year.
