It seems Ford didn't want to go there, anyone done a red light test?

And for that matter how about 6.2L Boss vs. GM 6.2l?

My ford dealer buddy says the 6.2L Ford runs neck and neck with the Ecoboost...

I just can't wait to start tuning my Ecoboost. Just fixing the transmission shift firmness and points will make it awesome without even touching the engine.

I've run my 6.2 Raptor Crew against my buddies Tundra Turd 5.7 and it's pretty close up to 60. However, from a 30-40mph roll up to 70-80, the 6.2 destroys the Turd.

When I debated between the Ecoboost and the 6.2, the Ecoboost pulls harder to about 50-60mph, but the 6.2 takes over at higher speeds. The 6.2 gets stronger and stronger and pulls harder the higher the rpms go. The Ecoboost dies out on the top end, but still strong.

Both will have a huge benefit from a tune, as the Tranny shifts are slow as hell. Someone needs to make an aftermarket Valve body for the 6speed tranny, similar to how there were better ones for the 4R100 with the Lightnings.

^ That's good to hear because the EB is over a second faster than the Raptor in the 1/4 mile. What hurts the Raptor is the large wheels

Once they are broken in and someone gets some tuning, I bet the EB will be kickin butt

Probably not a good comparison, but I had an eco all day Sunday for a test drive. I was driving next to a new Dodge 2500 6.7, driver kept looking over at me. Ended up at a stop sign together, heard him nail it, so I did too. Not even close, by the time I hit 60 he was at least 4 lengths back. Like I said, not a good comparison...but thought I would share.

Yeah any truck with 35s is going to be slower, but my Raptor still moves. I'm waiting on a tune and full exhaust, that should really pick up then. I hate how the tranny shifts the more I drive it.

I'd love to see what an Ecoboost will make with a tune for 93 fuel.

Take a look at 5star.

They have tune for the Raptor.

not possible. the 6R transmission is completely electronic and controlled by servos. a good tune would solve those issues

Good to know, I've been out of the "modding" game for a while on the trucks, so didn't know the valve body is gone. My 01 Lightning had a beast of a 4R100, completely bullet proof. My wife (GF at the time), hated that truck, she always wanted to know if my tranny was shot, since it shifted so hard.

I've seen the 5 star tuning threads over on the Raptor forums. Not sure if I will go with someone I've never heard of until the Raptor, we will see. I hope the tune wakes the tranny up, this morning I thought I was driving a Prius the way it shifted so early and slow.
