Talking Picked up the new truck on Friday!

After 5 weeks of waiting (Ordered on January 14th), my new Lariat, SCREW, Ecoboost, 6.5' bed, Max Tow is finally here.

It ended up working out great I had Friday off and the dealer called me a 10am saying it arrived. 2pm we're off to the races, and as luck would have it we had a road trip planned for the weekend.

I put over 700 miles on it over the weekend and the ride is great, and it has tons of power. Much nicer than my 2005 fx4. I can't wait to hook up the trailer when it warms up in a couple months. I'm not impressed with the MPG so far averaged 15.8 for a 600 mile highway trip doing 65-75mpg, but I'll withhold judgment till I get a few thousand miles on it.

I still wish it had the 36 gallon tank as when towing I be stopping to fill up every 3 hours or so.

Anyway here are a few pictures:

Nice looking truck. I don't care what others are saying, I like that light colored wood trim. Keep us posted on your fuel economy. A brand new engine plus cold temperatures are sure to make it worse. I'm interested see what real-world MPG numbers the "EcoBeast" is capable of.

I love the light wood with the tan interior. I didn't get a chance to see it till I picked up the truck and it looks good. The two-tone paint flows right into the interior color.

I did test drive a 5.0 with the black interior and didn't care for the contrast between the light wood and the black seats, but it still wasn't bad.

Looks nice. Man those mirrors look bid. Like Will Smiths ears...

Hope that mpg gets better. Its pretty much the primary marketing concept behind the 6 cyl...

Nice looking rig, I love the color and interior. I see a pattern arising with 4wd Crew Cab EB owner's. It is a very heavy vehicle for a small V6. It's going to take some throttle to get it moving so your going to use fuel. The EB is going to pay off when cruising on the highway at posted speed limit's. Driving around town and at WOT is going to kill fuel mileage.

Enjoy the new ride.

I've averaged 17.8 mpg on four tanks of 87 Shell in combined city/highway driving. The 5.0 sounds great so I have opened up the throttle once or twice on each tank of gas.

That average is with my calculator and not my onboard computer.
