Plat. 4x4 5.0. 3.55LS 6k miles. Mostly short trips (10 mile round trip to office) and mostly around town. Averaging 14.7. My right foot is a little heavy.

Believe it or not, this is better than my '09 2wd Plat with 5.4 and 3.73. I avg'd around 12.5 with it... Same kind of driving

On road trips I've taken in my '12 mpg was 17.5 to 18

This is all based on truck calculation, which from what folks report is pretty close.

All these with 50 to 50 mixture of city and highway.

Using superchips:

Mileage tune - I get over 18.3, I have gotten 20 when I stick no higher than 55mpg and take it real easy during the 50 to 50 driving.

87 tune - around 17.5

Heavy Tow - around 17.5, towing around 6K I get 15.5

93 Octane - haven't done that one yet.

In 35,000 miles, averaged overall 19.5. In town, 17.2 to 17.5, on the highway, anywhere from 19 to 20.5. That is running 70 to 75, part interstate, part going through small towns. If I could run at 65, it would be much better. Also, on the highway, that is loaded with 2 people and about 500 to 600 pounds of gear.

2011 Supercrew, 5.0 with 3.55s.

Is it me or are the 5.0 guys getting roughly the exact same mileage as the Eco guys? I guess that's to be expected since they roughly have the same EPA reports. Biggest factors sound like they are going to be the type of gears you get, the type of driving you do, the type of tires you later swap to and whether or not you have a heavy foot.

My Eco @ 8500 miles is avg'ing 17mpg over the life of it. That's about on par as my previously '11 Eco (both with the 3.55 gears).

Comparably equipped, I think the Eco and the 5.0 are very close, especially when you drive a lot above 70 mph. When you get into the turbos, you really consume the fuel. I have found that the weather affects my mileage a lot more than I realized. The wind and wet pavement make huge differences in my average.

If you could hold your highway speed to 60, I think the Eco would better the 5.0 by a couple mpg, but who can do that?

I'm at 13.5 mpg for the life of the truck.

Take into account out of the 33k miles on the truck 8k miles have had 6k lbs behind it, my commute is 4 miles so they truck never warms up and I have an above average weighted foot.

Bluejay, I try to keep it just under 70 on I35W between 820 and 380, and at 60 on loop 288. Lots of state troopers and local fuzz with radar.

Yep, 3 to 5 mph over the speedlimit is about all I will ever go thru that area.

BRUTE448...

I've been getting 16.2 mpg fairly consistently with my 5.0 (2012 XLT Screw)
