Hi Guys, I've searched for this and have yet to see a solution. Does anyone know how to enable or retrofit daytime running lights on an 2011 FX4? I was unable to order it directly as they are only available for "Fleet Vehicle" purchases, so is this an easy mod or a whole new light cluster up front?

And before someone suggests it, I'm taking real running lights not just putting duct tape over the sensor...

 

should be a simple trip to dealer. there is an options menu in the PCM. that should be one of them. in my 09 plat. the headlights are on whenever the shifter is in any position other than P

and they are half brightness. not full on. i ahve also had the parking/fogs on , and DRL's are still on when out of P. lights are still half brightness. i did that and forgot one time. noticed i could not see as far. thought one of them burned out.!!..

i would just call dealer. im sure that is still an option ,

 

I'll ask again they flat out told me it was not something they would do as it's only available for "Fleet Vehicles", sounded odd to me, but from what your saying I'm starting to wonder if it's there but Ford will not let them do it.

 

i have no way to check for your model year. the dealership should not care either way. its not like your voiding the warranty ?

i actually did it on mine , when it was in for brake controller activation. i had the puter in my hands. and the shop- master tech said. wonder what else is in there!!.

so we looked.
disabled the key in donger. and the seat belt donger. with door open.

I know on 04-08 F150s you had to add a part. Guys that would import US F150s into Canada had to do this to get it up to par as we have DRl laws up here.

 

Didn't know this was an option in the PCM. I'll let you know what my dealer says after I leave there tomorrow. I wonder if they'll do it for me. I have a 2010 Lariat Screw.

 

So Paco7771 any word on the PCM change to add the DRL's?
