Unhappy Newer King Ranch Leather help

Man, I really screwed up! My steering wheel was really dirty on top and decided to use a little Dawn dishwashing soap to clean it. It got the dirt but also took the coating off. It now looks bad as compared to the rest of the wheel. I put several things on it to bring it back but I'm wondering if it might need to be re-dyed. Remember, it is the newer color not Castano Brown but maybe Cherokee Brown. Anybody have any ideas?

Next time, leave the dirt since it adds some character. But when I had a 'coated leather' wheel on a SportTrac it had spots that wore off. I asked the dealer what he suggested, and he replaced the whole wheel under warranty. It's worth a try.
