Our 08 has this, doesn't bother me...
What's wrong with it?

Damn I wish I had this feature. I ALWAYS have to hit it again to get the last drips.

I hate this "Courtesy Wipe" feature on my 08. I've wasted more wiper fluid on cleaning up after that thing than I have used to actually clean the windshield. Maybe it's a conspiracy between Ford and the Wiper fluid companies?

If you live in any of the northern state where they like to use 100lbs of salt per square foot then you know how annoying this can be. After using a bit of fluid to clean up from the spray off the cars in front of you the wipers stop after the window is clean. Then a few seconds later after there's a little bit more partially dried salt on the window the things come across again and just smear it all over again.

A way to avoid the courtesy wipe is to.... after you hit the juice, and the wiper does its first cycle, click the wipers on and off to give yourself an instant courtesy wipe. It won't do it again, that squirt anyways.

That's exactly the problem. I was going to type it out, but didn't feel like it.

I went through 2.5 gallons of washer fluid in my truck this winter. I never used more than 1 gallon per year with my old truck that didn't have this feature. Its only a couple bucks extra per year, but sure is annoying.

I'm with those that think its a PITA. Especially in the snow/salt as 08STX4X4 stated.

It doesnt bother me on fords. I remember the first time I learned about it on our 08 escape was when i was clearin ice off the hood/windshield/cowl and my dad hit the spray while i was grabbin ice out of the cowl. So I let the wipers go. then they stop and i start grabbin ice and the SOBs start wipin again! got me by surprise haha
