free gifts from ford

Its been 10 years since I bought a new truck. Usually I would get a free gift from ford. My 2000 I got a paint touch up kit. 1998 got a free blanket, anniversary year. This year 2010 model I got nothing. Just wondering if ford is getting cheap.

I don't recall getting anything from them when I bought my 2004. In 2001 I got a fleece blanket that had a supercrew on it.

Yes, Ford is getting cheap. It started a few years ago when they realized that they were turning into an HMO that happened to have a sheet metal factory in a shed out back and wound up selling the crown jewels of Aston Martin, Jaguar, Range Rover, Volvo, and an interest in Mazda in order to survive the Great Recession. Thankfully, Ford was largely able to pitch the legacy HMO costs out and focus once again becoming a really good sheet metal factory.

However, as a FoMoCo shareholder, your free gift is my eternal good will for helping keep Ford afloat during a very dangerous time in its history by purchasing a FoMoCo product.

As a FoMoCo shareholder you are eligible for the X-plan pricing.

You need at least 100 shares of F and to have owned them for 6 or more months before requesting a PIN.

I just used it and all it took was an email to Shareholder Services. They sent me a form to fill out and send back (fax) to them proving F ownership. I printed out 2 monthly stock statements one from Mar 2011 and another from May of 2010 showing # of shares and continuous ownership. About a week later they sent me the PIN # via email.

Saved me a bunch from sticker.

Not saying my price can't be beat but it was painless and easy.

When I bought my 2000 Expedition, received a pair of very nice folding chairs in a carrying bag that has the Ford logo and Expedition embroidried on them. When I bought the 2005 truck, received a nice set of cordless power tools in a bag. I tried to buy a 2010 and they would not even offer me a decent price! LOL

Between my wife and I, we have purchased 7 new Fords. We never received anything, but never expected to.

Is it a regional thing? I've bought 6 new Fords over the years and never got anything "extra".

In 05 when I bought my SD I got a Milwaukee 18V cordless tool kit- drill, hatchet sawzall, two batteries, charger and nylon carrying case. Both drill and sawzall are still used every week, I did buy some lithium replacements for the nicads last year.
