Finally decided on Trail Grapplers over Terra... Now what size???

I have a 2011 White FX4 supercab and after going back and forth several times, I think I have decided to go with the Nitto Trail grapplers over the Terras. Im just too afraid that im gonna wish i had gotten the trails. I do agree with some on here that the terras look nice but I think they look nice on wider tires and bigger offsets than my 20" stocks will allow. So my question is what size??? I will have a 2" AS kit up front and maybe rear blocks. I have the 11 stock gunmetal 20's. I was thinking either 305/55/20 or 295/60/20?? I dont want a lot of rubbing or cutting. Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks in advance

as for size, go with a 33x12.5 (or equivalent) since that's what i'm thinking i want

You may want to tell Nitto that then! 295/60/20 is listed right on there website! Along with 295/55 and 295/65!! Does anyone know if the Trail definetely comes in this size? I cant imagine Nitto would list it on their website if it didnt exist.

295/60/20 is definitely listed on their site. It would also be my first choice, with a level and 20's. They will give the filled out appearance of 35's without being a 12.5 wide tire, and hopefully avoid the potential rubbing and cutting issues. My factore tires are pretty much 33's, and they're just too small once leveled.

Yah they are definetely on there website so im guessing they make them. Yah they seem to be .5" narrower than the 305 55 20 so Im hoping that will help with any rubbing issues. Anyone else have any suggestions?? I would like to pull the trigger by this friday??

I guess they do make that size then. The place I buy my tires doesn't carry that size in the Trail Grapplers.

I think you guys are going to find that the cool factor fades pretty fast with either. Keeping them in balance, noise, wear, and overall utility is **** poor on both and their sister tire in Toyo- they suck and are a huge waste of $ no matter how good they look

Suprsingly the best tire I've had in quite a while are Bridgestone Revo 2's, they have a nice aggressive look, stay in balance, and low noise. I cannot recommend them highly enough other than real off road tires like these:

Wow. I have read nothing but good reviews on the trail grappler. I have owned some terra grapplers before, although not for an extended time, but they were great while I had them. Pretty good off road and quite and rode well on the street.
My neighbor who is in sales and puts 60k miles a year on his f150 had the terra's also and loved them, I think he got pretty life out of them.

I have been reading that the trail grappler are relatively quiet on the street, wear pretty good for what they are, and do well off road. What exactly happened with yours? How soon did they wear out etc?

My Toyo Open Country M/T lasted 20k miles and were always out of balance within a 1000 miles. I attribute their wear to being on a heavy diesel 2500 Crew, but still they were a total pain in the *** from day one. Nitto's are Sisters to Toyo's.

Revo 2's were a whole different balgame on that truck. But now I have the Ecoboost Screw so my outlook may change. Generally I don't like gnarley looks unless they serve a real purpose.

i ran toyo's on an 07 f250 diesel 4x4 and got nearly 50,000 out of them. no problems whatsoever. i wouldn't run a bridgestone on a big truck just my opinion. but ******* toyo's and nitto's, i put alot of this on customer's trucks every year and get very few complaints.

Not ******* one them entirely (Nittos), but I still believe people buy them for looks rather than actual use or offroad capability. BFG has that pretty much handled: M/T for trails, and Baja Projects for speed in the desert.

Don't make me go to the mall and take pictures of all the lifted trucks with bald Nittos on them..........LOL. 98% never seen dirt. About as bad as the kid I know who has a Raptor never taken off road---Blasphamy

I've found the Toyo Open COuntry A/t to well outlast the Revo. DOn't get me wrong, I like both, but ultimatly I now go with the Toyo.

I've heard nothing but GREAT things about the trail grappler. It is quiet given the design.

Only negative for me is they are SO HEAVY. Don't really want a tire thats 20 lbs heavier!
