2009 - 2014 F-150

Mileage increase. Air intake, highflow muffle, gott mod, other? what has worked?

Honestly, that's not a fair comparison. Wind direction, altitude change, etc. can play a fairly significant role on mileage when you try and compare the same route but in the opposite direction.

Exactly. I have kept a spreadsheet record of every fill up for the 6 years I have owned the truck. I have learned some interesting info by doing so.

You would have to do the exact same trip to get accurate readings and be able to compare apples-to-apples... otherwise you'll be fighting the effects of going the opposite way which could skew your results I.E. wind, hills, traffic etc. **EDIT*** I see TX CHRIS ALREADY touched on this.

My truck is a 2010 XTR 4x4 5.4 Super Crew stock and I have my single steel sled deck on the back weighing in probably at 500 plus pounds! I drove for 1 1/2 hours highway recently to my dealership to have my first service done I used my cruse control the whole trip and maintained the speed limit the whole trip 80 to 100 klicks, my liters per 100 klicks did not change the whole trip it stayed on 10 liters per 100 klicks =27.72 mpg Canadian and 23.10 us I do use an additive in my oils which improved my mpg 5% Still need to add to my tranny yes

I have some ocean front property in Arizona to sell... interested?

Sorry, but nearly 28 mpg from a 4x4 5.4L Screw with 500 pounds in the bed is so unrealistically above and beyond what 99.99% of other owners report that I don't see how anyone could believe it, yourself included.

That's 28 mpg Canadian - read it a bit more carefully. Canada uses Imperial gallons.

I'm a new member but have been reading posts on this site since I bought my 2010 f150 SupCrew. I finally did the Ghotts mod 2wks ago and was pretty impressed (87 is just below $5 today). I was averaging 17.5 mixed driving before ripping out the snorkel and after 2wks with exact same driving conditions I am at 20.4 w/no dronning sound yet. I did take a drive to the country last weekend and was impressed with 22.5mpg 35-45mph. I did notice that in bad traffic the 1st-2nd shift was 'searching' more than before the mod...but still not that bad. I did find a station near the harbor selling 87 w/out ethanol so will start using that and see if there is any difference and post later.

Okay so we took another trip out to the country this weekend and I filled up with the 87 w/out ethnol. I resest the the mpg and was blown away when we returned home. Weather was beautiful and traffic was consistent 30-45 mph w/a few stops for corn, shrimp and beach. Total of 60miles round trip. When we got home I showed the mpg reading to my wife and her jaw dropped 28.5mpg (better than her Honda)...my truck only has 2400miles so far so maybe it's the ghotts or maybe it's the truck breaking in...either way I am stoked! Great mpg and still have the HP when needed. My 4yr old son is all smiles when I do punch the gas pedal

Im Canadian as well, and im having a hard time getting 17mpg combined driving out of my 2011 FX4...

I've averaged 15.7 on my first tank (91oct) since I've got the truck. Just filled it up yesterday with E85 and so far it's borderline 10mpg, haven't driven a bunch yet though. 89=$4.17 vs. E85=$3.09 Burns fuel quicker obviously, but we'll see if it's worth it after crunching some numbers and an empty tank.

also with my 500lb steel sled deck on the truck

Towed this truck home from McBride yesterday 3 hour trip, I averaged 17 liters per 100 klicks 17 divided by 4.54 =3.74 Can gallon / 61 miles = 16.31 MPG 13.4 mpg US
